Over the weekend I purchased this fantastic Kate Moss paper doll book to take me back to my childhood!! I loved these as a kid and spent hours dressing them in all sorts of crazy outfits. This one is more of a bit of coffee table book fun, but none-the-less am so tempted to pull it apart and relive some memories!!

A few nights back I was channel surfing trying to figure out what the hell to watch. I’ve exhausted my Sex In The City addiction, finished the Netflix ‘Stranger Things’ series, and was in the need for a new show to sink my teeth into. I came across a cult classic film I’d never seen, ‘Arabesque’, with Sophia Loren & Gregory Peck - viewing crisis averted!!

This week I’m thinking gifts! Yesterday I celebrated my wedding anniversary with my husband of now 14 years, plus 6 years on that working out where it was all headed for us!! Two kids later, growing and changing together, it’s fantastic we have made it through life still loving and respecting each other’s companionship.

Since the weekend all I’ve been able to think about is colour! The colour in the sky, the colour in my garden, and I’ve been looking at the colours that I’m wearing. On Sunday we had our annual school spring fete in the inner west in Sydney. Fantastic parents from the school get together with the same goal - to raise money for the school so our kids get much needed funding that doesn’t always come from where it should…..

At the change of any season I see it as a time of reflection of where I’m at in the year, and usually full of enthusiasm and optimism for what lies ahead. Of course like most people I have to say that when winter is bearing down upon me optimism can very nearly turn to dread…but here in Australia we’re through it, and Spring has well and truly sprung!!

It was an exciting weekend in the Moor household! We’re all massive fans of David Bowie, and like everyone on the planet, devastated by his sudden passing. My youngest Jed cried for a week, and was upset that he would never get the chance to see him live with me!
So for his birthday Simon and I bought him tickets to the Bowie tribute show at the Opera House with the Sydney Symphony, and he was just thrilled! The concert was fantastic with performances from Aussie icons such as Tim Rogers, Iota, Steve Kilby and the list goes on. It was a real coming -of-age moment for the kids, and so glad to experience it with them.

A good friend once said to me Mother’s Day is their favourite day of the year. Unlike a birthday, where it means another year older, Mother’s Day acknowledges you for no other reason than that you are AWESOME, and you are recognised by the special ones in your lives’ for helping their world turn!! Last week I got to play dress up to attend a glamorous YSL event at the Town Hall in Sydney. When I received the invite it took me back to 1987 where I attended a YSL retrospective with my Mum at the AGNSW, paying homage to the fashion achievements of this extraordinary designer.
