"A photograph can be an instant of life captured for eternity that will never cease looking back at you,"
Brigitte Bardot
This week I’ve been thinking about all the women in the world that have inspired my personal sense of style and how I choose to dress myself today.
One lady in particular is French 50s and 60s siren Brigitte Bardot, oh so French and oh so chic!
The curvaceous blonde with the kitten grin wasn’t merely a muse to the likes of Andy Warhol, a singer, actress and animal activist; she was also a trend setter!
She made the bikini popular in the 50s, she sparked the wide neck knitwear trend which exposes the shoulder now known as the ‘Bardot neckline’, and as a former ballet dancer once asked the designer Rose Repetto if she could make her some shoes as light as her dance slippers- when of course the everyday ballerina shoe was created!
Brigitte’s look was both siren- sexy and bold, or everyday casual, in which she still oozed sexuality!
Modern muses Kate Moss and Georgia May-Jagger remind me so much of Brigitte, in both their own style and the choices they make in fashion! I also carry immense respect for their careers and sense of style, I guess I know why!!!
