I’ve always been an expert in the art of second hand shopping!! I soon realised in my early teens that if I had barely any money to spend on clothes in a month, there were only a couple options: Buy something brand-new & mass-produced, or something older or recycled, that was always of higher quality. I was also lucky enough to have been a keen sewer & fashion student, so if going down the vintage route could easily do a few alterations to make my vintage piece sing. More than that, though, is how shopping preloved did more for unearthing my true style than shopping fast trends ever did.
Shopping preloved is definitely becoming the new mainstream norm, both for monetary & environmental reasons. If I ever need a quick fix & buy a piece from a high-street store I suffer pangs of guilt when I take it out of the shopping bag at home! But then, I do always recycle my wardrobe so I battle out the thoughts in my mind….
The aceyacey.com.au community is that of like-minded women who love to shop- but also love their designer & vintage gems to have a new lease of life.
