This week I’ve been wondering about time…. how fast it’s going, how I’ve changed through my journey & what’s on the horizon! If I’m sounding a little deep don’t worry, I was thinking this as I was staring into the abyss that is my wardrobe!
Are the contents of our wardrobes keeping us suspended in time? Are your clothes looking more like a time capsule than your current self? Are those items hanging and folded reminders of pivotal moments in your life both good & bad? I know with my own clothing items that I choose to not recycle are those pegged to specific moments like the shirt I wore to my mother’s funeral last year I will never wear again, but I will never part with. Or the dress I bought with my now husband in Italy a lifetime ago I’ll hold on to that for eternity for the smile it puts on my dial just seeing it!
So what’s the answer to growing with our style journey? How do we blur the lines with new trends as we seek to add our current wares, not to simply dismiss them? This day in age when we’re all so aware of fashion waste why not turn to the solution of shopping preloved & in turn recycling your own unwanted pieces? Set them free & give them a spin on a different dance floor (love that saying!!).
