So NYFW Winter/ Fall is already firmly in the rear-view mirror & we’ve had our first learnings of what new trends to expect to appear in the coming months. There’s been a mixed reaction to this year’s event from bloggers & stylists many wondering if there were enough ‘new’ aesthetic ideas to give us renewed vigour with our wardrobe. There is nothing more inspiring for one’s wardrobe than a catwalk showing, resplendent with all the new season looks to both attract and challenge you.
Some of key trends that designers hope they’ll see on the streets across the world in the near future include the return of the cape, be it hooded, oversize & in fabric to suit all seasons, the colour orange, florals, eclectic glamour & of course fashion made with an ethical message.
Marc Jacobs staged NYFW’s finale with a standout show at the Park Avenue Armoury which was staged like an intimate cafe. I love this quote from Marc explaining the inspiration for his new collection ‘It is the style in which different people dress at the various stages, ages and times in their lives, for all manner of occasions and moments, that endlessly provokes my love of fashion and the possibilities of what can be.”
