I know all of us are eternally trying to find the perfect pair of jeans- the new ‘classic’ that will take you through years of wear and be on-point season after season. The kinda pair that you don’t wash for six months to make sure they take the right shape on your legs & butt! Years ago I had the opportunity to produce an interview with the designers of Nudie jeans in Stockholm for a fashion & music TV special, and they swore the only way to treat your jeans right was to do the no wash as a rule. As gross as it may sound to some of you it’s been tried and tested and is so so true!

We all itch to invest in the more seasonal styles which come and go, but what is ‘the new classic’ brand?? I always had in my mind either Levis Strauss, J Brand or Nudie had become just that, but after seeing the eternally so god damn cool Bruce Springsteen play last weekend at the Hope Estate Winery and his choice of wardrobe now I’m just not sure…

I know I’m looking at a man’s style here, but Bruce is more relevant than ever in both his music and fashion. I’d have to say one of his most defining weapons to stay at the top of his game in such a fickle industry beyond his obvious talent has to be his fashion sense.

He may not be the current ‘it-girl’ living style guru that would pop to mind, and I’d always pictured Bruce as the all Americana Levi’s clad performer, but when I saw him on stage in Rag & Bone denim I started to doubt my fashion radar as to what was actually happening in the world of denim!
