NEW YEAR NEW TRENDS

I hope you’ve all been having an amazing week.

 

 For all of us fashion-focussed, the new year brings the same old question: What can I add to my closet to navigate the months ahead in style? If you’re ready for this kind of wardrobe refresh, I’ve been researching the style trends to look out for in 2024. Here are a couple I will definitely be on board with!

 

A cool new trend we saw emerging towards the end of last year is the skort aka long bermuda shorts! I’ve seen a bunch of cool girls on the streets in these, particularly in denim. 

Floral Fabrics

Ok so if we look to the runways key trend predictions for 2024, the worlds’ biggest designers have all agreed that floral fabrics are the go. Not flat floral prints, but rather a texture!  References like extra-large embroidery cut-outs at Valentino, multidimensional floral breast pieces at Loewe, knitted rosettes at Alexander McQueen, and actual pink roses stuffed inside sheer garments at Simone Rocha. So note to self when wearing petals this year, make sure your flowers are not limited to a flat pattern. 

 White Out!

I’m not talking about the ivory, greyed-out, eggshell whites that are associated with winter. This is unquestionable crisp white. Many designers are backing the hue in the form of flowy gowns and blouses, and of course the classic white shirt is an eternal classic to have hanging in your closet.

The Slick Jumpsuit

The durable, one-and-done jumpsuit is getting the high-fashion treatment by the likes of Hermès, Saint Laurent, Carolina Herrera, and Isabel Marant. Expect to see this pared-back piece making stealth leaps in luxury throughout the year ahead.
