NEW ADDITIONS PERFECT FOR YOU

I’ve been reading some great blogs over the past week following the NYFW autumn/ winter shows that happened 11th-16th February.
Whether its a sign of tough financial times for people globally, or whether fashion’s elite are tiring of trend based fast fashion which is ending up in landfill far to quickly, designers that can make clothes that meet us where we actually live are on the rise.. Which raises the real question: why would we accept less?
It’s a great point that all of us are the ones buying the coats or jeans. We have the power to decide what ends up in our wardrobes and what stays on the racks.
The big trends I noted were designers pitching heirloom timeless pieces made in beautiful satins and lace and made to last. Clean lines, texture, and wearable!
A great way to add variety to classic silhouettes is via the neckline. While they never disappeared entirely, it's been a while since the boatneck has felt so prominent in designer collections. On the slightly more whimsical side of the neckline spectrum, peter pan collars seemed poised for a resurgence.
Full outfits composed of only black and white (or cream) have never looked chicer than at several of the week’s shows. Quiet luxury isn't dead yet, as exemplified by the proliferation of monochromatic grey outfits throughout the New York runways. It may feel a bit somber, but wearing grey head-to-toe doesn't have to be boring.
If colour is your thing the big colour on many of the designers catwalks was a deep eggplant purple, and brooches were the biggest accessory on every designers catwalk.
Anyway thats a summary of what I saw happened in NYC, so let’s look at what’s just in at aceyacey.com.au this week! There’s a heap of preloved gold just added that you will treasure forever and will feel amazing in :)
Next week we must start looking at frocks!! There are some amazing designer dresses about to hit the store. Some would be perfect to wear to The Oscars next month!
Til then

PS: I had to mention last weekend I went to see ‘EPiC’ Baz Luhrmann’s new doco. Baz Luhrmann thought his Elvis journey was over until he came across a stash of unseen footage and interviews which became the basis for a fascinating new documentary about the King of Rock and Roll. It is a must see.
