FLIP YOUR WARDROBE!

Posted on

Ok so I’m finally ready to share tips and insights if you are yet to give your wardrobe the flip and refresh for 2026. Yes, I know we are now approaching the end of February, but instead of just looking at this as a start-of-the-year-thing, let’s take into account that it’s also the start of a new season. Here in Australia autumn starts next weekend and on the flip-side of the world it will be spring but nevertheless whatever your personal motivator is this is a great time to change things up a little!

Detoxing your closet is no easy task; it takes ruthless decision-making and plenty of organisation and is definitely worth doing properly.

You need to give yourself a couple of hours and commit to the cause - that’s my biggest tip!! Start by splitting your wardrobe into seasons. Then start with the season at hand and ask yourself these questions: 1: Do you still wear it? 2: Is it a classic piece? 3: Does it still fit? Depending on the answers you can then either keep it, sell it, drop off at  the charity of your choice or as a last resort bin it. If it doesn’t fit any longer then get rid of it immediately!! You don’t need to be stressing about clothes that don’t fit and really this isn’t a challenge, a wardrobe refresh is something to be enjoyed and set you up in the right frame of mind for the season/year ahead.

Hang in and be meticulous with this process piece by piece, season by season, and once done you will feel so good about it especially if you have been super ruthless. If you feel the need have a last once over before you say goodbye (yes it can be emotional and bring up some great memories). I have regretted parting with a few items over the years being over enthusiastic with the space in my closet.

Now here’s the fun part! Once you’ve cleared everything out, look at the gaps in outfits you have and start planning what you need for the new season ahead. Look for quality secondhand pieces with sites like aceyacey.com.au to fill your needs. I always stand by quality pieces that will retain their value for years to come :)

Honestly this is a failsafe way to get your wardrobe in order, and I hope you give it a go!
