What to Wear to a Show (2026 Edition)
Posted on
Hope everyone had a beautiful Mother’s Day last weekend! 🤍
I recently saw The Devil Wears Prada 2, and I absolutely loved it! Without giving away any spoilers, I can promise it's a fun ride with most of the beloved characters from the first movie making a return. One of my favourite aspects was its playful jab at tech CEOs buying up creative fashion properties for their spouses who may not be well-versed in style. (Sound like anyone at the Met Gala?)
Lately, I’ve been enjoying a lot of live music—Mumford & Sons and Beck, to name a few—and getting dressed for a show is always a highlight for me. It’s all about striking that perfect balance: looking effortless yet considered, without trying too hard.
So, here’s my take on what to wear to a gig in 2026:
-
A Great Jacket (Always): Think vintage, denim, leather, or oversized tailoring.
-
Lived-In Denim: Choose a pair that feels comfortable yet sharp.
-
A Touch of Attitude: Opt for sheer fabrics, silk, or a statement top. Right now, anything with a '90s aesthetic is a win.
-
Slip Dress or Pencil Skirt: Pair it with a cozy jumper or layer a cool tee over the slip. Channel your inner Carolyn Bessette Kennedy for this vibe.
-
Comfortable Footwear: Go for boots or sneakers that you can actually stand in for hours.
-
Minimal Accessories: Keep it simple, but include one standout piece to elevate your look.
It’s less about “festival dressing” now and more about styling the pieces you already love with intention.
I’ve pulled together a selection of pieces in-store right now that are perfect for this—easy, cool, and made for a night out. You’ll definitely know the right ones when you see them!
