IT’S A WRAP ON NYFW WINTER/ FALL 2017

‘Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future…this is known as fashion week’.- Carrie, Sex and The City

As I’m writing this the final catwalk for NYFW Winter/ Fall 2017 has been strutted. Fashion shows are like a crystal ball into the future, commenting on how we are evolving due to our current culture, politics and world climate. A common thread throughout the shows this year is the global movement that ‘the future is female’.

The female form was adorned with soft yet strong silhouettes, beautiful colouring and all sorts of adornments that will create a whole new series of trends that I can’t wait to get my hands on!!

My fav part of fashion week is of course off the runway, checking out the world’s fashionista’s on how they choose to sparkle strutting the streets outside fashion shows or from the front row. Whilst most of us around Australia have been sweating through the hottest summer on record, New Yorkers have been sloshing though snow to get to the shows- which is great for us to get our ideas for the upcoming colder months!
